What you are agreeing to.

Your story stays yours. You give Pay Me in Stories specific permission to store it, organize it, and use it in project work under the terms below.

Your story and your ownership

You keep any copyright and other ownership rights you have in your submission. You give Pay Me in Stories a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to reproduce, transcribe, edit, excerpt, adapt, combine, display, perform, distribute, and publish the submission in Pay Me in Stories artwork, websites, exhibitions, screenings, archives, and project-operated social channels. This permission does not transfer ownership of your original story.

Storage, transcription, and organization

You permit Pay Me in Stories and service providers working on its behalf to store and process your submission. Audio and video may be transcribed. Submissions may be privately summarized, categorized using a limited editorial system, and compared with other submissions so the project team can find related experiences and work efficiently as the collection grows. These tools help organize stories; they are not used to invent a replacement for your story, and their private labels may be incomplete or wrong.

How you may be identified

Submitting a story does not give Pay Me in Stories permission to publish your email address or other account details. Unless you separately agree otherwise, the project may present the story without your name or use a general contributor credit.

Your confirmations

You confirm that you are at least 18 years old, that you have authority to grant these permissions, and that the material does not knowingly violate another person’s copyright, privacy, publicity, or other rights. You agree not to submit confidential information, private contact details, or material you do not have permission to share.

Voluntary participation

Your participation is voluntary. Unless Pay Me in Stories makes a separate written agreement with you, submitting a story does not create employment, a partnership, or a right to payment, royalties, approval of edits, or credit in a particular form.

Deleting your story

You may permanently delete a submission through your account or with its private story key. Deletion removes the story and related working data from the project database and prevents use in future projects. A limited non-content record of consent and deletion may be retained for legal, security, and accountability purposes. If the story has already been incorporated into an existing, completed, or published project, deleting the submission may not remove it from that project or copies already shared by others. Contact Pay Me in Stories directly about an existing use and the project will do its best to accommodate your request.
